A pivotal role on one of the UK’s premier business-to-business titles, working closely with the editorial team and with key commercial partners to develop bespoke, creative solutions. These will
include print reports on topical issues such as the future of energy, the challenge of working with vulnerable customers, and streetworks. The role has a major digital element as well, and the successful candidate will take the lead in developing our new offer for contextual, digital case studies on key issues of concern to utility leaders. This role also includes working on an exciting new project looking at the technology changing the game for energy, water and gas businesses. This is a telesales roles that requires excellence in core sales disciplines: maintaining highly profitable relationships with all existing clients whilst developing new business accounts through canvassing of leads generated, competitive monitoring and cold-calling potential target prospects.

KEY SUCCESS CRITERIA:
• Successful delivery of special projects including editorially-led print specials and digital case studies
• Successful delivery of commercial element of new technology project
• Achievement of individual monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets
• Retention and growth of existing customers
• Acquisition of new business
• Meeting the company’s sales standards
• Keeping up to date client records and fulfilment of activity sold

KEY ACTIVITIES:
• Work closely with editorial and marketing teams to develop creative solutions linked to the editorial agenda
• Work closely with editorial and marketing teams and take primary responsibility for the commercial success of new technology project
• Manage, maintain and be accountable for sales activities to meet targets and sales yield
• Develop strong client relationships to enhance the standing of the brand and to lead to profitable sales
• Develop new sales leads and build a database of potential clients
• Effectively handle all incoming calls for pre-defined customers
• Make outgoing sales calls to lapsed and potential new business clients to maximise revenue, to hit and exceed targets
• Be knowledgeable about market, customers, competitors and products in order to sell solutions to customers effectively

Maintain a strong sales pipeline through effective relationship building, call management and lead generation

• Ensure accurate use and maintenance of any system supporting sales activities including Ad Depot
• Ensure sales administration activities (reports, meetings, plans etc.) are completed in an effective and timely manner
• Submit to the manager all relevant paperwork, required forecasting and sales reports as requested in a timely manner • Any other additional tasks as required from time to time
